“If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day.” This quote comes from the person who has one of the brightest fortunes ever witnessed in humanity. Born on the 28th of June, 1971, Elon Reeve Musk FRS is a business magnate, industrial designer, entrepreneur , engineer, and philanthropist. A study over his works and contributions would make us understand that he indeed ,is a thinker and a creator.

He holds the citizenship of Canada, the US and South Africa, where he was born. In 1999, he founded X.com which later was renamed to PayPal. Then, in the year 2002, he founded SpaceX, and Tesla Motors in 2003. By his late 20s, he became the owner of millions of money , when his startup company Zip2, a web software startup that created online city guides for newspapers, was sold by him to Compaq.

An exclamatory phase in his life was in May 2012, and his name was borne by the headlines, when a rocket was launched by SpaceX, ‘which would send the first commercial vehicle to the International Space Station’.

Now, let’s travel back to his childhood. Some interesting facts about his childhood was that he sold candies to rich people, by going from door to door. In his school, he was often bullied. His parents kind of had the thought that he was possibly deaf. We can figure out from the fact that he’s a high profile intellectual, he had a particular inclination towards reading. In his life ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ has acted as a turning point.

Elon Musk is a person of a kind or we would have found every second person learning the basic fundamentals of computer programming at nine years of age. Another very interesting fact about him is that he coded his own video game at twelve years of age, named Blaster , and he earned $500 for this. Today, he is rightly called ‘the ultimate man of pioneering technology ‘.

He received his education from University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University and Queen’s University. But , people as great as him, rarely do not drop out of schools and this man is no exception to that. According to various sources, and based on an aptitude test taken by him, his IQ is 155.

Also, when he moved to Canada as a teenager, he lived on $1 a day.

Elon Musk brought down the cost of reaching the International Space Station by 90%.

Musk is also the founder of The Boring Company, cofounder and co chairman of OpenAI, though he thinks that AI is humanity’s biggest existential threat. He was also one of the initial, important investors in the electric car manufacturers, Tesla, of which he was the chief executive officer. He is the owner of 21% of Tesla but had pledged more than 50% of his stake as collateral for loans.

Overall, till now, he founded 8 companies- Zip2, PayPal SpaceX, Tesla, Hyperloop, OpenAI , Neuralink, The Boring Company. No wonder that according to recent records, his net worth is $24 billion. According to The New York Times, received the highest compensation package ever.

Even culturally, his contribution is of some value. Musk was the inspiration for Tony Stark, who is also known as Ironman. Also, he owns one of James Bond’s cars.

Musk purchased the Solar City in 2016 and performed an advisory function in the Trump administration, during the initial days. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2018 and ranked the 25th position on the Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful People.

Now, let’s take a look at him as a philanthropist. His Foundation in collaboration with SolarCity , donated the 25kW solar power system to the South Bay Community Alliance’s hurricane response centre, in Alabama, in the year 2010. Another example of his philanthropy would be the fact that, in an effort to help solve the Flint Water Crisis, he and his Foundation donated $480 thousand for the installation of new water fountains with filtration systems for access to clean water at all Flint Michigan Schools.

When talking about him, we must also throw light on the close friendship of Elon with Larry Ellison.

Elon Musk is currently working towards the bringing of a revolution to transportation, both on Earth , through electric car maker, Tesla and in space through rocket producer SpaceX.

The US Military and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, currently, are organizing a 7500 mph rocket that can deliver weapons anywhere in the world in an hour.

While concluding, we can state that Musk and Grimes named their baby boy X Æ A-12 when he was born in May, but changed it to X Æ A-Xii later that month. It’s going to be a real celebration if he turned out to be a genius like his dad, because Elon Musk is a genius of a different level and a special kind, and an asset to the world.
